Cassidy Weiss is a Philadelphia workers’ compensation lawyer at Stern & Cohen, P.C., where she protects the rights of injured workers throughout Pennsylvania. She has litigated complex injury cases in both state and federal court, representing people in catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims. She has also worked on the insurance defense side, so she knows how carriers approach a case. Today she uses that perspective to anticipate how insurers will challenge a workers’ compensation claim and to build a strong case for every client.

Legal Experience

Before joining Stern & Cohen, Cassidy was an attorney at a Philadelphia-area firm. There she represented injured people and their families in catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims. She also practiced at an insurance defense litigation firm in Philadelphia. Throughout her career, she has handled complex cases across Pennsylvania in both state and federal court.

Education

Cassidy earned her law degree from Penn State Dickinson Law, graduating with concentrations in Advocacy and Litigation and in Corporate Law and Practice. In law school, she competed on the Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot Court team, served as an editor of the Journal of Law and International Affairs Blog, and was a member of the Corporate Law Society.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Northern Illinois University. There she played four years on the Division I Women’s Soccer Team and served as team captain for two seasons. While balancing the demands of Division I athletics, she earned MAC All-Academic Team honors and was named a MAC Presidential Award winner.

Like Stern & Cohen’s founders, Cassidy is a former Division I athlete. The leadership, resilience, and work ethic she built as a team captain shape how she fights for injured workers today.
