Education

Tomas earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Sociology from The Pennsylvania State University, along with a minor in Latino Studies. Following graduation, Tomas deepened his commitment to advocacy by working as a life skills coach for Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha, where he helped youth in Philadelphia’s child welfare system prepare for independent adulthood.

He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law with a certification in Trial Advocacy. While at Temple, Tomas was a member of the top-ranked National Trial Team, where he developed his litigation and courtroom skills. He also founded Philly First, a student organization dedicated to connecting law students with community service opportunities, and was actively involved in both the Latin American Law Students Association and the Black Law Students Association. Upon graduation, Tomas was honored with the Myron H. Deutsch Memorial Award, presented to graduates who demonstrate exceptional achievement in Temple Law’s renowned trial advocacy program.

Legal Career

Tomas began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia, handling a range of cases across the adult and juvenile systems. His time in public service sharpened his advocacy skills and gave him a strong command of courtroom procedure and strategy.

At Stern & Cohen, Tomas focuses exclusively on representing injured workers in Pennsylvania’s workers’ compensation system. He is known for his client-centered approach—bringing empathy, strategic insight, and a deep understanding of the law to every case. His goal is to help clients navigate the legal system with confidence, secure the benefits they deserve, and regain control over their lives after a workplace injury.

Personal Life

Tomas is proudly Puerto Rican and was born and raised in North Philadelphia, where his deep roots in the community continue to shape his approach to the law. His longstanding commitment to advocacy informs every aspect of his practice, ensuring that each client—regardless of their background or circumstances—receives thoughtful, respectful, and compassionate representation. Tomas believes in the power of individualized justice and views every case as a chance to help restore dignity, stability, and peace of mind to those navigating difficult times.
